Geely Auto January sales jump 40% year

Beijing (Gasgoo)-Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely) sold a total of 156,326 vehicles in January, a year-on-year jump of 40% and a month-on-month increase of 1%, the company announced today. The annual sales target for Geely is 1.53 million units, so during the first month of this year, it has completed over 10% of the target.

Last month, Geely sold 4,289 new energy vehicles and electrified vehicles, including EVs, HEVs, PHEVs and MHEVs. And its export volume was up more than threefold compared to the same period of last year, with 10,031 vehicles exported last month.

In January, sales of Geely-branded cars reached 60,823 units while SUV sales were 93,827 units. The Emgrand and the Boyue family maintained strong momentum. Sales of the former were 23,698 units while those of the latter reached 30,197 units.

Lynk & Co brand has logged seven months of consecutive new-high sales with 25,501 new vehicles sold last month, a year-on-year surge of 183%. The monthly sales of the Lynk & Co 03 surpassed 10,000 units for the first time in January. By the end of January, the cumulative sales of the brand reached 455,449 units.

Geely teased the KX11 in January, the third CMA-based model from the company. The SUV model will have dimensions close to those of the Haoyue. Previous reports revealed the KX11 will have a length of around 4.8 meters and a wheelbase that spans 2.8 meters. The KX11 is set to make its debut at the Auto China 2021 and hit the market this year. Volume production is said to begin in the third quarter of 2021.
